OUR CBR JOURNEY: EXPLORING THE ROLE OF FARMING AND BUSINESS

Throughout our Community-Based Research (CBR) , we experience and learned a lot, and it is very enriching and interesting, the fact that we interviewed some of the farmers and vendors in our community, which is Brgy. Tamorong, Santa Catalina. We learned a lot from them through engaging with the farmers and vendors. We interview them by asking questions and also listening to their stories, challenges, and struggles they face in their daily lives. We discovered their hard work and patience that was a commitment to providing fresh and good produce products or crops to the community.

This journey has meaningful connections to us with them. Farming and Businessing was their way of  success and also their source of income for their daily needs of their families. They also are their primary source of the key to survival and prosperity. Agricultural and economic industries had a significant impact between the farmers and businessperson.

Here are some of the documentaries that we took before and during our interviews with the farmers and vendors and also our journey in engaging this research about the livelihood and economics:

With this picture, we discussed our topic. it reflected our teamwork as we prepared for our Community-Based Research, sharing our ideas each other on how we engage the person  we have to interviewed which is the farmers and the vendors.

One of the farmers that we interviewed is Mr. Bernard Rabena, he shared some struggles and experiences in cultivating crops such as cauliflower, cabbages and others. He mentioned that 3-4 months of the timeframe in harvesting those crops.

He described the process of cultivation, from planting to harvesting to ensured the better quality of the crops. This Cauliflower symbolizes their hardwork and patience of the Farmers'.

Also, we interviewed Mr. Rodrigo Ragunton, which his business is selling chicken. He is resident in Brgy. Tamorong, Santa Catalina. In is every days, he sells up to 100 kilos which his profit is 20 pesos per kilo.

During the interview, this was the freshly harvested cauliflower, showcasing and highlighting the hardword behind the farmfield. This cauliflower will sell it in the market.

After the interviewed , we go to our leader's house to write down the experiences and struggles shared by the farmers and vendors. We carefully transcribed their stories focusing their challenges they face in farming and business. Exploring their factors such as market access and crop variety.

After all, farming plays a significant role in their lives. The dedications, resiliency, and hard work of farmers and vendors highlighted the importance of agriculture but also sustaining the communities by sharing cultivated crops. Despite their challenges and struggles, they remain committed to their crops. They continue to produce fresh and good products.
